Le Mans Classic

We were invited to join a great bunch of chaps driving in their classic cars to the Le Mans classic.

The group consisted of a few Ferraris (512TR, 458 Spider, 308 GTS, 328 GTB and a 3.2 Mondial), 2 x Aston Martin Vantages, a Merc SL63 and we went in our Aston Martin DB9 Volante.

Our car was chosen to lead the group there & back and to the track every day. On the way there, the 512TR developed a misfire that continued throughout the trip but luckily Chris (the owner) managed to nurse it back home with a probable coil pack issue. The 308 GTS leaked when the rain came and opened its door whist driving on the motorway and the 328 drank a litre of oil getting there. The only one not to return was Anthony’s Mondial, which died on the way back with a suspected water pump failure. He’s had to stay in France over night then take a hire car home. The three Astons, the 458, and the AMG on the other hand were faultless.
